PLANNING
Harriman State Office Bldg.5 is a 237,000 sq.ft., seven story space laid vacant for over 10 years. HDG was part of a collaborative planning team to re-purpose and rehabilitate this space for a new State agency. HDG completed exterior renderings, space reutilization renderings, redesigned floor plans that improves foot traffic flow, flexible conference rooms and the elevation of ceilings whenever possible.
EXTERIOR & INTERIOR
As one of two Architects of Record, HDG completed full interior redesign throughout, restoration and redesign to the Main entrance.
The entryway floor was completely reset to its original condition, and terrazzo flooring through out the building was restored. All exterior windows were replaced with larger versions to increase natural light. Ceilings were raised whenever possible to create more openness which was severely lacking previously.
AWARDS
Because of the aggressive project timeframe and successful execution of interior removal and rehabilitative work on this building, Harriman Building 5 won the APWA 2015 "Project of the Year" award.
